This is the first time I have tried Dicky Bag products. A range of sizes and designs are available but this one sounded most suitable for our two hounds. This product is made in the UK, in Cornwall to be more precise, from neoprene and the price reflects this. It is more than 3 times the price of the competition but I am so fed up with finding everything I want is made in China that I thought it was worth trying this.
My first impression was how small this bag looks, this is the large size and it is supposed to be 1 litre plus but the storage space for spare poo bags in the lid seems to take up a lot of the volume.
It is supplied with a de-odoriser pad which fits in the base and a pack of poo bags which fit in the cover. There is a loop on the bag which can be used with a belt clip (supplied) or used with a lanyard (if you supply your own). A circumferential zip allows access to the contents.
Fitting the poo bags in the lid compartment is a little fiddly, so is getting...
Overpriced, not as anticipated.
I've just taken mine out on its first outing, and I have to say I'm disappointed with this.
Firstly, the "Universal clip" supplied with the bag doesn't appear to be the one in any of the pictures of these bags, or as pictured on the box itself. It's a medium-low quality carabiner with a smallish clipping space and a metal "paperclip style" lever. I don't have any confidence that it'll hold out with a full bag of poops swinging around on the back of a rucksack, so I'm going to have to replace it with a better quality clip. It has enough space to clip to a ring; but might struggle around webbing on a rucksack etc.,
Secondly, the poobag dispensing feature in the lid is not good. There's no way to load it from above, so you have to push the bags through from underneath through the hole they dispense through. This means it's impossible to put them in in a way that they'll dispense easily. The rubber is also quite strong gripping. Despite my...
