I bought this crate recently for my puppy and it was the worst crate I have EVER seen! The metal/steel was corroded, each and every edge of steel was very sharp......actually cut my hands in several places just setting it up. Now this could be a one off manufacturers fault but be careful!
The doors did not close properly at all....so it defeated its purpose to be frank!
I thought I was buying a top of the range crate for my dog but what I actually got was cheap tat!
Do not waste your money on this crate!!
Just Perfect
We were looking for a cage to use in the car for our Cockapoo puppy and wanted something robust and safe at a reasonable price. We bought the 30" deluxe Ellie-Bo which seems about perfect. The finish in silver is good and the frame wires 4mm diameter so quite sturdy. The cage has a metal tray in the base that can't be chewed. The cushion works OK but we've added extra layers. Its been in the house as well so now bought a second!
Can be dangerous for puppies
I bought this crate in black a while ago. 3 weeks ago I purchased a puppy who was seven weeks old.
The crate in itslef was fine, no sharp hinges or bits and the bed is good and cleans very well in the washing machine even when totally covered in poo!
However, after a week of using it, my puppy was nibbling the bottom bars of the cage and his teeth got stuck to the point where we had to force him to open his mouth with our hands. His head got all crooked up, it was really frightening to see. We realised that at the bottom, there are 2 bars on top of each other but one clip has gone a bit loose and there is a gap that " moves", allowing teeth to get trapped. So we had to turn the cage upside down so these bars will be at the top bit. We also put cardboard on each side of the crate to prevent him to do the same on this side of the crate. Our new problem is that he now sticks his head up through the whole and as he is going to be a large breed, his head will get stuck very soon...
