Wow! Received this today, and my gorgeous cocker spaniel let me groom her without fussing, and she nearly fell asleep! Shed loads of hair removed and she looks sleek and shiny! She was so happy afterwards with her new hair 'do'! This is quite expensive but well worth the investment; it even removed the matted hair by her ears, which I removed very gently. She didn't pull away and was quite content to let me get on with it. A great buy, very happy!
Noticably better than a regular brush
I bought this after watching the furminator video and Im glad I bought it. It doesnt get rid of all of the hair in one easy swipe as the video indicates which is why its 4 stars instead of 5, but it does collect an enormous amount of hair in comparison to a regular pet brush. If you look on the furminator website as well as read the instructions it comes with it will say to not apply too much pressure and a gentle stroke will do. A little bit of force is needed and will take a few strokes to work out the right amount of force that will not hurt your pet but ensure the max amount of hair you can get. depending on the breed and how much it malts will determine how often you need to use it. I have a labrador who seems to have a never ending supply so spending 5-10 mins everyday works best for me! sturdy tool, worth every penny!

This item was recommended to me by a friend. I'd tried loads of different combs and brushes with my long haired German Shepherd, but he still left a pile of long black hair everywhere he laid. The FURminator gets right through his thick coat to all of the dead hair. I really cannot believe how much hair it got out of him, and in half the time.
I was a bit dubious about a product that is a bit more expensive than other similar, but it is worth every penny. It's halved the grooming time I was spending with better results. I really would recommend this for long haired dogs.
