I have a young male Italian Spinone. He's a bundle of energy and at times, I feel as if I'm the one being walked! Following a rercommendation from a colleague, I purchased the Gentle Leader (large). The product was well priced and did not incur any shipping costs to Northern Ireland. This product is fab!!!!! It works brilliantly for my Spinone - no more pulling which means walking is a joy rather than a dreaded experience. I have washed the product in the washing machine on a cool cycle and it came up just like new. I only wish I purchased it months ago!
Excellent training aid
I have used the Gentle Leader for both my dogs when they were puppies: it helps them to get used to walking by your side and not pulling, and works brilliantly. Now my male dogs is an adult and 42 Kg, I still use the Gentle Leader when walking him: 99.9% of the time he walks beautifully without it, but if he sees one of his 'mates' he will pull towards them and he is too big for me to hold without the Gentle Leader to help. I have given a Gentle Leader to several friends, all of whom have felt it to be useful if they have persevered. One or two said their dogs didn't like it and tried to get it off, so didn't carry on with it, but in my experience, even if they are not keen at first, they soon get used to it and learn to associate the GL with a walk and therefore fun.
