I purchased my Petmate Fresh Flow back in 2004 when one of my cats was first diagnosed with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) and the idea was to encourage her to drink regularly.
Well, it is a complete success, not only with her but with her two kittens also. All three of them drink from this fountain reguarly and I wouldn't be without it. The pump has been running continuously, 24/7, since November 2004. I keep it regularly maintained and if anytime it should fail, the pump is easily replaced.
I totally disagree with the previous customer who said this product is useless.
Sometimes it does depend on the cat as to whether the product is a hit. A friend of mine was so impressed with it that she bought one for her own cat, but the cat didn't respond to the product and my friend sold it on.
However, my 3 cats love it! I would certainly buy another one and I'd buy the same product, but this time I'd buy it online instead of from...
Better than expected!
This product is simple to set up, it's extremely quiet (you don't even notice it's there) it doesn't splash, and after only two days the cats are drinking from it like it's always been there. The cats are drinking a great deal more which is brilliant, our cat has mild urinary tract problems so we are relieved to see her taking on more fluids.
Having read many negative reviews for other similar products such as being hard to clean, messy, noisy and awkward to set up, I can honestly say this fountain has none of these problems.
