I have been using Johnsons flea and tick collars since 1980, this should tell you that they are perfect. I have pedigree show dogs and i have in the past tried other flea deterrents but guess what my dogs got fleas!!!.I have had the odd flea with the collars but it has mainly been dead..killed by the collar.
You can groom and bath your dog with the collar on and your dog can swim in it.
My advice is to open the collar and let it breath for 2 days before putting it on the dog and then for 5 months you can forget getting fleas and ticks.........and compared to other flea and tick products it is so cheap.
For me and my dogs there is no better product on the market.
Just a final note as with all flea products it cannot be used on puppies under 12 weeks of age and if you have a large dog then a larger and longer collar is available, but for me this is just right.
