My beagle, and apparently many others, are food fiends and will do just about anything for a snack. Having watched her get slightly porky, we decided that she should work harder for breakfast, and bought her one of these.
It has been a real success. You load the little gap (Yes, it's fiddly, but big enough for a bit of kibble to fit in) with the food and set it down. A bit like a weeble, it's weighted at the bottom and springs up when she knocks it down. Keeps her entertained for as long as the kibble's in it. Could be ten minutes or half an hour, depending on how vigorous she is with it.
My dog has had hers a fortnight now, and it's still a big hit. She returns to it long after breakfast, in the hope it's magically refilled itself. The only drawback has already been covered by a previous reviewer - being made of hard plastic it makes a horrible racket when it hits the laminate flooring. Not a problem for the dog, mind you!

I had something similar before and my dog lives this one too. It keeps her occupied for ages! Good buy, great delivery time, good item, recommend it highly.
Great chew toy!
We have a ball version of this toy, but as we have recently adopted another dalmatian thought we would get something similar to amuse the new addition to the family.
I added a few bits of kibble to try it out - but neither dog could get it come out of the hole - even i had trouble trying to remove it, even with rolling, shaking and poking.
The moral of this story is ONLY use small kibble - just because it fits through the hole does not mean it comes out again very easily. In frustration at not being able to get the food out both dogs took to trying to chew the top off instead. So in hindsight i actually think the ball version is much better as it is too big to be chewed!
