Not cruel, fast training and good control
Firstly I did not buy this item from this seller or Amazon but from a seller on Ebay. But I have to review this item to help other dog owners that need a bit of extra help.
I can see why people might think these are barbaric but honestly if you want to stop poncing about trying to train your dog use one of these.
They are not cruel. They do not cut the skin. They apparently imitate the mothers pinching grip on a puppy.
I would highly recommend watching Don Sullivans dog training DVDs. He is brilliant and the best trainer I have watched. He has his own 'command collar' which we cant seem to get in the UK but also recommends use of this style prong/pinch collar.
This was delivered on Saturday. In 5 minutes my over active stress-head Border no long pulls at all. He now does the down command after 2 30 minute training sessions and best of all he has stopped going out of control every time a dog walks past him. I am amazed. We've tried...
Barbaric
It is time amazon stopped the sale of these barbaric collars.
They are used for training fighting dogs to make them more resistant to pain.
They cut into the dogs neck and are very painful

Fabulous product
I know this is a controversial product. However I have a six year old springer that cannot walk nicely on a lead. I also have another larger dog and a young child in a pushchair. This item has made it possible to walk them all together again. Our bigger dog is great on a lead so don't need one. This collar has stopped my springer from pulling, reacting to birds etc. I now have peace of mind when walking near roads knowing that she can't pull us onto the road etc. it hasn't caused her any pain at all
